I suppose I am on a bit of an egg kick at the moment. Quail Eggs I couldn't help myself. The other day I was in the Asian market getting some ginger and there they were, these glorious little quail eggs. They have neat little spots and are so tiny and delicate. I had to get some. Quail Egg Yolks The woman at the register gave me a funny look; maybe a guy like me (sleeveless Toasters t-shirt http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/238408/The+Toasters.jpg , tattoos showing and a mohawk) doesn't really buy quail eggs? Sexy Eggs Well I did, and they were awesome! I took a small saute pan with a bit of bacon fat and fried the little guys, sunny side up. I dusted them with a bit of chili powder, salt and pepper, and added some thinly sliced chiles. Delicate little Quail Eggs Sometimes the most simple dish can be so beautiful. I really dig this one. The yolk was delicate and mild and the whites got nice and crispy in the bacon fat. Delicious! They were delicious!
